Serial-ATA drives perform at 7,200RPM and are most commonly used for entry-level to medium-level performance requirements.

Serial-ATA Western Digital Raptor drives rotate at 10,000RPM and are most commonly used in medium-level applications.

Serial attached SCSI drives which QuadraNet offers perform at 15,000RPM and are used in medium to high resource applications which rely on hard drive performance. Common uses are dtatbase servers, heavy file read/writes, etc. Certain servers will require an addon RAID/SAS controller to be compatible with SA-SCSI drives.

Solid State Drives contain no moving parts and use NAND-flash memory for storage of data. SSD's provide the highest level of performance for read/writes.
Intel's 3rd Gen, 320-Series SSD's have major performance and reliability improvements over other manufacturers and earlier iterations, making them ideal and well-suited for server environments.

Hard drive controllers offload the tasks of processing from the server to dedicated addon hardware cards with processors and memory leading to increased RAID performance. Certain servers require addon cards to enable SAS compatibility.

QuadraNet provides 2 controller options:

• Value - 800Mhz Processor, 128MB Cache, RAID-0,1,10
• Enterprise - 1.2Ghz Dual Core Processor, 256MB Cache, RAID-0,1,5,6,10

Additional memory provides your server with increased performance and capabilities. Commonly as traffic to your websites grows, or the amount of websites, scripts, features, etc grows on your server, you will need additional memory.
